  • Price includes food throughout the weekend, hanging out at the mansion, and attendance at the Ethics/Bias CLE at the Hollister Mansion in Prescott, WI. Cost is for adults only. Family welcome.

  • Are you a law student? Want to hang out with attorneys with MNAPABA? Hey! It's cheap-as-free! Bring a sleeping bag, a pillow, your favorite jammies and treats to share with the class!

Highlights
  • Hang out at Hollister Mansion, eat food, and attend CLE ($40 for attorneys / free for law students) details / directions
  • Saturday CLE from 9am-12pm (3 credits total: 1.5 Ethics + 1.5 Bias)
  • Saturday afternoon -- winter activities (skiing or snowshoeing)
  • Want to stay overnight Fri + Sat? ($91 for attorneys / $40 for law students)

All activities (except the winter activities) will take place at Hollister Mansion, which has We have 8 bedrooms / 16 beds available total for overnight stays.

Friday, Feb 23 

  • 4:30 PM – whenever – pot luck dinner, socialize, have fun!

Saturday, Feb 24

  • 8:00-9:00 am Continental Breakfast
  • 9:00-10:30 am CLE: ETHICS JEOPARDY! (1.5 ethics credit)

Come prepared to provide questions to hypothetical answers involving questionable conduct by attorneys! Grab a copy of the Minnesota Rules of Professional Conduct and decide whether these poor lawyers are in jeopardy!

  • 10:30-12:00 pm CLE: Executive Order 9066, Fred Korematsu and Today (1.5 bias credit)

Evan Tsai, Assistant Public Defender, will moderate a discussion about Franklin D. Roosevelt’s order incarcerating Japanese Americans and the impact of Korematsu v. United States in today’s political discourse. Watch the short documentary, Of Civil Wrongs and Rights: The Fred Korematsu Story and think about how our political discourse continues to allow this narrative and set of social circumstances continue in the administration of justice. How do we combat Korematsu v. United States, especially since it is still good law?

  • Noon – Lunch
  • 1:00 pm – Winter activities!  Skiing at Afton Alps? Snowshoeing?
  • 6:00 pm – Dinner and fun – karaoke, anyone?
